Hey, 16 days today. I only knew that by going back and counting, I'm not obsessed like I was last time about how many days, hours, minutes I've quit for. That's gotta be a good thing. Poor Keith, I feel sorry for him. I know deep inside he wants to quit, he knows what it's doing to him, all smokers do, but it's just that some people have just not got the willpower. Quitting smoking is one of the most difficult things on earth to do, ever, I don't care what anyone says. I'm just hoping that by seeing me look and feel so much better that it might give him the motivation. I hope to god it does cos the way he coughs in the morning, I don't wanna lose him to cancer in his 40's, he has to slow it down at least, he's on about 40 rollies a day at the moment, that's pure unfiltered tobacco, I hate to think what his lungs look like. I don't know why, an awful thing to say, but I've got this feeling with Keith it's a case of do or die. He has to do it, and he has to do it now, there's no second chance with cancer. I won't nag him, just hope that one day he wakes up and realises, like I did. before it's too late.

anyway, on a lighter note, the gym is coming this morning, they do make good clothes rails those things. Nah, seriously, Martin and I will be jogging three evenings a week, and we will be using the gym for 3. I have also bought fat calipers, don't ask, and I will be keeping a written record of my progress. I must must must stick to a regular routine of exercise, I am soooo porky right now and I absolutely hate it, hate it, hate it. Just deciding on the best way of keeping the record online, saves me having to write it all down by hand, seeing as I've lost the art of writing the old fashioned way, pen and paper, sooo 1980's.

I have no patience, if I haven't got a body like Madonna's in a week then I will want to quit. I'm so pathetic.

I still haven't had any work, that's a week now, bad news, very bad news, I'm going to the office today to find out if they are discreetly trying to get rid of staff, this isn't good. I need to earn more than this, I will have to find another job if it carries on. I think I know what's happened though, they have recently done a big recrutiment drive in the local papers, so I think all the work is going to the newbies, to try them out. But that's not fair on the current transcribers like me, I mean no work for a week? Out of order.

Hang on, Jolson's sitting on my hand & mouse ..... not sure what's up with him lately. All he wants to do is sit on your lap, it's not too much of a problem but getting him off is a big problem. He will not get off, you literally have to pull each claw out of your clothes one by one to release him, he hangs on for dear life, he doesn't want to go out, at all, not even for his food, and he just wants to be with you, wherever you are, he even tried to get in the bath with me. A very clingy cat, it's almost like having a clingy child, it's getitng to be a bit of a burden, love him.

Ok, so boring plans for today: stay in till midday waiting for the gym, correction, stay in til 6.30 waiting for gym that should have arrived before lunch. Go to work to return tape and ask if I have been dumped, cook something for dinner, do some housework, go for jog, come home and collapse, bed. My life is just sooo exciting I can't take no more.

Now I'm going to have a yoghurt, some fruit, and search for some sort of online progress chart thing for my new exercise regime, which will last all of a week, well one can only try!

BTW, my car insurance company wanted me to call them with a small query they had, the first 2 times I was waiitng for over ten minutes listening to music, the third time after ten minutes an automated voice said 'operators are all busy, if you would like an operator to call you back please key in your number' so I did, no one got back to me. so after another 5 calls, and another five 10 minutes or so of lsitening to music I finally got through. Well I checked my bill, it took eight calls and cost me just over £3 for all that hanging on, it was a premium rate number. I am furious, ok, don't have a problem with it being premium rate, the problem I do have is the fact that they have you hang on for ten minutes, and then claim all their operators are busy, they can call you back, that should be the option at the start of the call, not after for ten minutes which has cost you nearly a quid. Anyways, I have written a stinking letter demanding they refund me the cost of these calls. I have listed the time, date and cost of each call. If they did that to say 10,000 customers a week, they have made £30,000 just by people hanging on the line listening to music. That is criminal and I'm not gonna let it rest. I'm not a miserable cow but I'm not gonna sit back and let these comapnies take the piss out of me. It was information they wanted, and information I had already given via the form. So why should I pay for their cock up? Will update you on the response.
