02 May 2006 - 18 days

Pinch, punch for the first day of the month ...

I've wanted a ciggie quite a few times today, just because I've been doing things that I used to do whilst having a smoke or two, placing Ebay ads, playing poker, walking round town buying clothes, bought a stupendous pair of combat jeans, a little tight around the gut but I'll lose that, won't I??? well I can squeeze in to them and wear a baggy top, I love them. A little note left by Chunki on the previous post states that she gained weight after quitting, I hear this all the time although I am choosing not to listen. If I worry too much about it I'll start the smoking again, I am so terrified of becoming obese, not so terrified that it's stopped me eating anything that smells good and doesn't move. Haven't yet stopped thinking about it, keith shouted out want a rolly, and I replied yeah, forgetting that I didn't smoke, it's a hard habit to break, for sure ... bas**rd.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I do voluntary work at a charity shop, MIND, mainly keep the window spruced up, well designed etc, occasionally they ask me to run the shop if Sheila, the owner, has a day off. So tomorrow is one of those days. I love playing shopkeeper for a day, although not something that would appeal to me to do all day, too many weirdos, we have a 16/17 stone benny look alike, hat 'n' all, come in and try the ladies clothes on, he always chooses a size 10 or 12 and asks for help to squeeze in to them and be 'zipped' up. He will then have a little parade around the shop before de-robing and buying the goods. OK, we shouldn't really let him do it, but each to their own, and every penny helps in this business if you know what I mean ...we also had someone come in and use the changing room as a toilet, say no more, what is it with some people? We have refugees who will swap the price tags from the sale rails to the higher priced goods. I've cottened on to that now, one will keep you busy whilst the other does the dirty deed, not any more, watch them like a hawk. tsk, tsk, in a charity shop, I don't know, no scruples. And we have one woman who always puts one item by for a week, it's usually priced no more than a pound from the sale rail, but she always comes in and collects as promised the following week? I thought I might explain to her that if she didn't buy anything for a week, and save the pound, then the following week she could come in and buy it and take it home, the same day, but I might confuse her. Maybe a book is in order, exploits of a charity shop worker??

Thanks for your opinons on the hair Kirsty, I like the first pic too, maybe the colour is a little ginger for my liking, my faded hair is a little on the ginger side now and I really don't like it (a previous failed home attempt at bleached highlights) I have included a pic of my hair as it is now, getting ready for the before and after thing, what a crazy mess, it's been a while since I had a trim, I'm a bit neglected poor thing, got some making up to do eh? ... Not sure when I will go and have it done, it will be an on the spur of the moment thing, I don't do booked hair appointments and wait a week, far too impatient, and I always change my mind if I have time to think about it. Same with my teeth, freaking me out, I wish I knew someone who had had treatment by this Mr Louw, and could give me a glowing reference of his work. I'm exctied but extremely apprehensive at the same time, not sure how a three hour appointment will leave me, and I don't want to expect too much incase I am dissapointed.

Well I best go watch the rest of this film with Keith, V for Vendetta, sounds a bit weird, I'm not paying much attention though. I do recommend watching the World's fastest Indian, with Anthony Hopkins, a thoroughly enjoyable film I thought!

Eaten tons today, fry up in the cafe (next to a weirdo who had tipped his dinner off the plate and on to the table and was eating it off there, inbetween talking to the palm of his hand) then had crisps, yoghurts, a ltitle chocolate, just scoffed chicken wings, now I'm looking for more munchies ... uh oh!

ngiht all x
