Well that was a knackering few days. Smeone went off work sick, a reliable person, and the place all but fell apart without him. I worked Thursday evening and he didn't turn up, no one had passed the message to us that he had called in ill, so that was it, sorry Lynn, you're on your own. Friday was the same, except I left at 7, so didn't have the manic shut down, but yesterday, you'd have thought she would have sorted out cover, nope. I went in at 2 instead of 5 and more or less ended up doing an 8 hour shift on a saturday, including shut down, alone, oh yes, she also left me the salad bar to close down. When the last person left me at 5, after I had picked myself up from my begging her not to leave me knees I asked her who was going to cover my 30 minute break, oh, that hadn't been thought about. So in 8 hours I didn't even get a break. And tell you what, it's freeeezing behind that deli counter, hanging aorund chillers for 8 hours is no fun. (Although I stopped moaning when Keith got in from an 8 hour shift, working outside on the railway signals in -7 temperatures) Still I managed to do it, I'm kinda getting used to doing these shut downs alone, I guess the more I do it the quicker I'll get. Actually I was all shut down by 8 o'clock, but don't tell anyone, I just had to hang around till we closed at 10, the only thing I had to in the last hour was clean the meat slicer, cos obviously that has to be left right up until the deli closes.
When I got outside I had to wait half hour for my car to defrost. I meant to take a bottle of water with me to pour over the screen, but forgot. Mind you, I did that the other morning and no sooner had the water hit the windscreen it froze again, crazy!

Lordy did I have a fright last night. Martin's girlfriend foned me, she said Martin had seen David Ballard and was going after him, he needed to know why he did what he did. This was at 11 o'clock, after my shift. I was absolutely terrified, so I jumped in my car, and drove around the vicinity of where she last saw him. I looked like a prostitute looking for business, kerb crawling and eyeing all the men walking past. Turned out he decided against it, as David was with a few mates, he said an anger just raged through him when he saw him going for a night out, laughing and joking, and he kind of lost it for a moment, I think I'd do the same, well I know I would. But I explained that you can't reason with nutters like that. It's the problem with society though, the police still haven't spoken to him yet, thats over 2 weeks, it's no wonder there's gang warfare, it drives you to it, there needs to be justice or people will take matters in to their own hands, you can't help it.

Anyways, best get on with some work, I been up since 5, blerk x

I would be so angry too about that bastard. Why haven't the police followed it up..it is crazy. You need to get a scraper for your window and scrape the ice off. You get nice and warm doing it too
