Oh what joy my weekend was .... We've had this smell in the house over the last couple of weeks. It has been a gradual decline of freshness, starting in the conservatory, and then spreading in to the lounge. It has been worrying me, I thought maybe the drains were blocked or something. So over the weekend I made it my mission to find out once and for all where this smell was coming from. OK, now did I tell you that Martin, my dear son Martin had taken up fishing for a hobby. Yes, you know what's coming ... right outside the back door, a nice cool box full of two week old fish he'd caught and forgotten about. He didn't even tell me he and his friend had caught them, so I hadn't a clue they were out there. The story goes it was a cold morning, so he sat them outside in the garden ready for collection by his friend, who incidentally is doing a chef's course at college, and was going to collect them that same day, after he had had a sleep, to cook at college, but, he forgot. So I wonders what's in this box, and I lift the lid. When I came too I kicked Martin out of his bed and demanded, yes demanded in my most demanding voice, that he gets rid. It was so pongy that even with the air tight lid on the smell was stenching through the back door, and through the inner door in to my lounge. How on earth do you dispose of something as toxic as that? Only suggestion I could make was to put them back where they came from, the sea, so that's what he did.
I shall have a gripe about this blog, nobody warned us about spam comments, I've only been here a few days and already had a spam comment. I thought that the little box that you had to type all the letters in before posting a comment stopped all that. Someone must have been veeery busy last night. I get sick of typing them in once, I'll give him/her credit, they've got patience. I didn't even understand what they were going on about. But then I only got to the second sentence before deleting.
I am on a mission today to sort AOL out once and for all. I have been experiencing what the customer representatives like to call 'outage'. Three evenings running I have been thrown out of AOL and not been able to sign back on. My speeds have, on many occasions, declined to less than that of a dial up connection. In my line of work it's not good enough is it? I have deadlines of when my work needs to be emailed back, and being confidential I am not allowed to send via someone else's computer. If I can't email it then I have to physically take it to the office on a disk. I am currently paying £19.99 for my 'platinum (pah!) service, and upon reading up on their packages there isn't a service costing over £14.99, so I haven't a clue what I am paying for. I am awaiting 8am, when their lines open, and I am going to demand (I've been very demanding lately) some sort of compensation for the inconvenience of it all. There are too many cheaper alternatives out there for them to argue.
I will be back in a bit, I feel it in my waters.

P.S, my cold frame hasn't been built yet, but the leg of the sofa has been fixed, it's a start.
